Does anyone else feel like they need more hours in the day? It’s crazy to think that quarantine (in California) started in March. Finding a balance between working and relaxing is challenging when you’re at home 24/7. However after a few months, I think I’ve finally perfected my daily routine down to the last minute of every day! Ever since I watched the movie, New York Minute, as a child I’ve always planned out my day just like Ashley Olsen! LOL… I’ve always been super organized and I’m a huge planner! This is what my day looks like from the minute I wake up to the minute I fall asleep!
7:00am – I start my day by journaling, 5 minutes of just writing down what I am grateful for and 3 things I want to accomplish for the day (I have the 5 minute gratitude journal from Urban Outfitters – it’s amazing!) By this time Daniel is awake and we drink coffee together, when it’s nice out we sit out on our patio. Finally, I get ready for the day. I would always try and do a million things in the morning but I decided to change that and have a slow start. It leaves me feeling relaxed and puts me in a good mood.
8:30am – Walk the pups. The dogs need a 20 minute walk twice a day. They absolutely love walks! Taking this time to be present is my absolute favorite.
9:00am – Prepare for lessons. I gather all the materials I need for the preschool lessons.
9:30am – Preschool lessons online. It’s great that we are able to connect online although nothing is better than being in the classroom. I cannot wait until school reopens!
11:30am – Tidy the apartment and I’ll listen to my CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) course or practice Hungarian. (Honestly, I am normally ironing, the laundry never ends!)
12:30pm – Daniel is normally home around this time. We eat lunch together and he takes a snap of my outfit for Insta.
1:30pm – Work on lesson plans Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, I like to type up my blog posts during this time.
2.30pm – The pups have their second walk. I love to listen to a podcast while I walk, I’ve been listening to The Skinny Confidential.
3:00pm – Preschool lessons online.
5:00pm – 30 minute RUN! Time to sweat, I love to play my music really loud and zone out for a good 30 minutes. Lately I have been listening to Rüfüs du Sol, their music makes me break out into dance! Then I shower and start to unwind for the evening.
6:00pm – Cook dinner, eat dinner with Daniel (he normally arrives around 7pm), after dinner we snuggle on the couch with the dogs and watch Chopped or a movie.
9:00pm – Read my book. I am currently reading The Woman In The Window by A.J. Finn. The movie airs today! So you know what I’ll be watching this weekend!
10:00pm – Body scan meditation. This is 20 minutes of relaxing and being fully present. I feel so calm afterwards and ready for bed.
So when I say I need more hours in the day I truly do mean it! Lately I’ve been enjoying the time at home although I do miss going out for a bite to eat and visiting friends! How have you been keeping busy during quarantine?
